Is this dispensary licensed?
Search 707 licensed New York dispensaries by name, address, or license number. Our records sync daily from New York State's official Office of Cannabis Management licensing data.
Why this matters
Only state-licensed dispensaries may legally sell adult-use cannabis in New York. Licensed shops follow the state's testing, labeling, and packaging rules, and they are accountable to the Office of Cannabis Management. The NYC Plug lists licensed shops only, sourced from official state data. For adults 21 and older.
Questions about license verification
How do I know if a New York dispensary is licensed?
Search the shop's name, address, or license number above. Every result comes from New York's official Office of Cannabis Management licensing data, which lists each licensed adult-use dispensary, its licensed entity name, and its license number. If a shop does not appear, it may be operating without a license.
Why does the licensed name differ from the name on the storefront?
Licenses are issued to a legal business entity, which is often an LLC with a different name from the storefront brand. We show both: the name on the sign and the licensed entity on record with the state.
What are the risks of buying from an unlicensed shop?
Unlicensed shops sell products that have not been tested to New York's standards for potency and contaminants, and they operate outside the state's consumer protections. Licensed dispensaries are subject to testing, labeling, and packaging rules.
A shop says it is licensed but does not appear here. What now?
Our data syncs daily from the state's public dataset, so a very recently issued license can take a short time to appear. You can confirm any license directly with the Office of Cannabis Management at cannabis.ny.gov.
